Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 May 2026
SolarSon Green Energy ("SolarSon", "we", "us") sells, installs, and services rooftop solar systems across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you contact us or use our website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act").
1. Who we are
SolarSon Green Energy is the Data Fiduciary responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at solarson.greenenergy@gmail.com or +91 8143382147. Our office is in Hyderabad, with project teams active across Hyderabad and Vijayawada.
2. What we collect
We only collect data you give us. The most common items are:
- Contact details — name, mobile number, email, locality / city, and (if you ask for a site survey) full installation address.
- Property and usage details — average monthly electricity bill, sanctioned load, roof type and approximate area, and the segment your property belongs to (home, society, campus, corporate office).
- Lead context — which page you submitted the form from, the form variant, and any free-text notes you added.
- Eligibility data — for PM Surya Ghar subsidy enquiries, we collect your PIN code, monthly bill range, and a self-declared property type so we can tell you whether you qualify.
- Technical data — IP address (briefly, for spam protection via hCaptcha) and standard server logs.
We do not ask for, store, or process Aadhaar numbers, PAN, or any other sensitive ID on this website. Documents required for subsidy filing or EMI applications are collected offline, after you have spoken to us.
3. Why we collect it
We use your data only for the purpose you gave it to us:
- To respond to your enquiry, schedule a free site survey, and prepare a quotation.
- To apply for the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana subsidy on your behalf, where you have asked us to.
- To coordinate with your DISCOM (TSSPDCL / APEPDCL / APCPDCL / APSPDCL) for net-metering approvals.
- To introduce you to our partner banks if you have asked about EMI financing.
- To service your installed system during the warranty period.
- To improve our website by understanding which pages help visitors most.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
4. Consent and legal basis
We rely on your consent under Section 6 of the DPDP Act. Submitting a form on this site is an explicit, informed act of consent for the purposes listed above. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing solarson.greenenergy@gmail.com — see section 8 below.
Where we share data with a third party (a bank, the DISCOM, or the national PM Surya Ghar portal) to complete a service you have asked for, the legal basis is that the sharing is necessary to perform the contract or government-scheme application you initiated.
5. Who we share it with
We share the minimum data necessary, with the following categories of recipients:
- Google LLC — your form submissions are emailed to us via Gmail and appended to a private Google Sheet. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
- hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, Inc.) — to confirm you are not a bot. hCaptcha receives your IP address and a short browser challenge token.
- National PM Surya Ghar Portal (Ministry of New and Renewable Energy) — only if you ask us to file your subsidy application.
- Partner banks — only if you ask us to introduce you for EMI financing. The bank then evaluates you under its own KYC and credit checks.
- Your DISCOM — only the data required for net-metering approval on the system we install for you.
- Our installation, electrical, and civil sub-contractors — only the address and contact details needed to complete your installation.
We do not share your data with anyone else. We do not transfer your data outside India except via the Google / hCaptcha services named above, which operate global infrastructure under their published privacy commitments.
6. How long we keep it
- Open leads (no installation yet) — kept for up to 24 months from your last contact, then deleted, unless you ask us to delete sooner.
- Customers — kept for the full warranty period of your installed system (up to 25 years for panels, 10 years for inverters) plus 8 years to meet GST and income-tax record-keeping requirements.
- Calculator and eligibility-check enquiries that did not result in a follow-up — kept for up to 12 months for trend analysis, then deleted.
7. Cookies and analytics
This website uses a small number of cookies:
- A language preference cookie (
SOLARSON_LOCALE, valid for one year) so the site remembers whether you prefer English or Telugu. - A consent cookie that records your choice from our cookie banner.
- hCaptcha cookies to detect automated form abuse.
We currently do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If we add them later, this policy will be updated and the cookie banner will list them before they load.
8. Your rights under the DPDP Act
As a Data Principal you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it has been used.
- Correct any data that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Erase your data, subject to the retention rules in section 6.
- Withdraw consent for any future processing.
- Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
- Raise a grievance with us, and if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any of these rights, email solarson.greenenergy@gmail.com or WhatsApp +91 8143382147. We will respond within 7 working days.
9. Security
We store your data inside Google Workspace (Gmail and Google Sheets) protected by two-factor authentication and least-privilege access for the small number of SolarSon staff who handle leads. We use HTTPS across the entire website. We have not had a data breach to date; if one occurs, we will notify affected Data Principals and the Data Protection Board within 72 hours, in line with the DPDP Act.
10. Children
This website and our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected a child's data, write to us and we will delete it immediately.
11. Updates to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top is authoritative. Material changes will be flagged through the cookie banner the next time you visit the site.
