The system we designed
Before
A four-bedroom independent house in Madhapur, two ACs running through summer, an electric water heater, and an EV being trickle-charged overnight. The monthly bill rarely came in under ₹6,000 in summer, peaking at ₹6,400 in July 2025.
What we installed
A 5 kW rooftop system with 14 Tier-1 panels on the south-facing portion of the terrace, a string inverter rated for future battery retrofit, and net metering through TGSPDCL. PM Surya Ghar subsidy filed end-to-end; the full ₹78,000 was credited against the invoice. Net metering went live 28 days after installation.
After
- July bill the next year: ₹280
- Daytime EV charging is effectively free
- The household plans to add a 5 kWh battery in year three for evening backup
The Rao family says it took two months of bills before they fully trusted the math. Now they refer two neighbours every quarter — most of our Madhapur enquiries come from their street.
